Small Comeback

The Cardinals score three in the bottom of the 8th, two on a bases loaded double by Preston Wilson. The mid-season acquisition drove in three of the Cardinals four runs tonight. The inning ends with Pujols on deck, meaning he can't do too much damage leading off the ninth. The Brewers still lead 9-4.

It's over. Cardinals lose, Astros win. Biggest collapse in history. Sweet.

They haven't collapsed yet. They're still .5 games up. But still, this implosion is pretty amazing. As an Astros fan (long before the Nats came to town) and a lover of great baseball in general, I have to say I'm enjoying it immensely.

At the very least, maybe this will give the Cardinals' FO the impetus to toss Tony LaRussa out on his sorry butt. One of the least impressive so-called "great" managers in Major League history, if you ask me.

Sory for my brevity.

Actually, the Cardinals have collapsed. In a fantasticaly historic fashion.

I am also an Astros fan. I know it's not over. But it's a hel of a lot of fun to watch.
