Always Get the Sure Out
With men on first and second and none out in the seventh, Bochy asks Bard to sacrifice. The Reds go for the lead runner and don't get him. The lost out leads to a four run instead of a three run inning for San Diego. If this turns out to be a one-run game, that play could be significant.
Update: The Reds are staging a comeback. They've scored two in the bottom of the seventh and have two on with one out.
Update: The Padres bullpen keeps the damage to two. It's 4-2 Padres in the top of the 8th.
