Borowski vs. Delgado
With men on 1st and 2nd, and the Mets trailing by one run, Carlos Delgado pinch hits with two out in the ninth against Joe Borowski. He gets ahead 1-0 in the count.
Update: On a 2-1 count, Delgado goes the other way as the bat breaks and squirts off Cabrera's glove between Miguel and Ramriez. That scores Wright from second and ties the game at four.
Update: Ledee flys out to center to end the inning. Marlins get last licks.
Update: The Marlins fail to score and the game goes to extra innings.
Update: The Mets take the lead in the top of the eleventh on a wild pitch by Herges. Lots of little things hurt the Marlins this inning. A double play ball that didn't get scooped, Cabrera running out of room trying to catch a foul pop near the tarp, and then the wild pitch. Ramirez follows with a throwing error on a ball in the hole. He tries to get the out at third but the ball goes into the dugout, and the Mets lead 6-4.
Update: The Mets add another run and win the game 7-4. A very tough loss for Florida on a day when San Diego wins and it looks like the Phillies will win two. The Mets eliminate Florida from the possibility of an NL East title, and lower their magic number to two.
