Defensive Lapses

The Marlins defense is costing them outs and runs in the first inning. With first and third and one out, Byrnes hit a smash to Cabrera at third. Miguel's throw got the runner at second, but it was a little off, causing Uggla's throw to first to be way off. Then Byrnes tries to steal, Olivo makes a perfect throw, but Ramirez can't handle the ball. Estrada singles up the middle to give the Diamondbacks a 2-0 lead. One of the big differences I've see between major and minor league teams is the ability to make plays on defense. The Marlins inexperience is costing them this inning. Connor Jackson drives in two more with a double to make the score 4-0 when twice Florida should have been out of the inning.

And the Fish score 6 runs in the 6th inning to take a 1 run lead. Leadoff single, 2 straight outs, then 4 more singles and a homer. Unreal.

TOJ,
It's happened twice in baseball history, actually: Earl Wilson of the Red Sox did it in 1962 and Rick Wise of the Phillies actually hit 2 homers while pitching a no-hitter in 1971.
