Wild One in Texas
The Yankees, down 4-2 in the 8th, score four runs on an A-Rod homer, a Cabrera double and a wild pitch. The Rangers come back with three against Beam and Proctor in the bottom of the inning, the big hit a two-run single by All-Star stud Michael Young.
Not to be outdone, Jeter leads off the ninth with a single, and Giambi blasts a ball deep into the rightfield stands to take back the lead 8-7. Otsuka blows his third save of the year.
Update: Mariano Rivera gives up a hit, but gets out of the ninth without allowing a run. The sweep puts the Yankees in the wild card lead by 1/2 a game ahead of Chicago and Minnesota.

Wild one, and more over the Yankees escaped the 8th in a bases loaded no out jam using a guy that have been slapped around since mid May... Shawn Chacon. Chacon got a strike out and a double play to excape the huge jam.
Proctor pitched 3 inning in 2 night before tonight, using him was odd to say the least... what happen to Farnsworth.
Mariano was pitching for 3rd day in a row. There was only a 1-run lead, he struck out Gary Matthews Jr on 4
pitches, got the first batter to pop-up, got another to
ground out (Mo's specialty for 11 years), & gave up no
walks. He leads the league in IP for late inning relievers
with 55.1 IP. These are also ways of looking at his appearance. (To above poster-Farnsworth is worthless--
he begged out with a stiff back, per the post game).
Unfortunately, Farnsworth"less" is only about 4th on the current worthless Yankee money stealer chart :P
