Power and Speed

With the score tied 2-2 with one out in the bottom of the ninth, Ichiro Suzuki bangs a ball into the right-center gap and runs out of the box going for a triple. He makes it easily to put the winning run at third. Beltre is intentionally walked to face Lopez.

Update: The Rockies are walking Lopez to load the bases and bring in Fuentes to pitch to Ibanez. A fly ball wins the game, and with Ichiro's speed it doesn't need to be that deep.

Update: Ibanez strikes out. The Mariners need Bloomquist to reach to win the game now.

Update: The Rockies score two runs in the top of the 11th to set themselves up for a victory. A win puts them 1/2 game behind the Padres.

Update: Bloomquist grounds back to Fuentes to end the inning. The Mariners can't take advantage of Ichiro's triple. They'll go to the tenth in Seattle.
