Double Your Pleasure

The Marlins knocked out six doubles tonight, part of an eleven hit attack that put them ahead of the DRays 7-3 in the seventh. The Marlins came into the game with 34 doubles in the month of June, the second fewest total in the National League.

I see the Marlins are at it again tonight. I can't believe those "baseball experts" at the beginning of the year that siad it was only a matter of time before they traded Cabrera and Willis. For what reason? They are both at least 2 years away from free agency and by that time they'll know if they have a new stadium or will be moving to a new city. That organization knows what they are doing. 75 wins is about right for them this year. They'll be over .500 next year and be a playoff team in 2008. I hope they stay where they are but if they move, they will make one city very happy.

I made my first blog entry tonight, about the Marlins. I could've written an essay about them, but didn't have the time. You know, the last time they won the World Series (2003), they didn't start getting good until a manager change...which was in late May. They were in 5th place, 19-29, on May 22, 2003. They were 13.5 games out. They ended the year 91-71, getting into the playoffs as the wild card.

In 2003, they didn't even have a 15 game winner (tho they did have three 14 game winners).

Wouldn't be interesting to see Detroit vs Florida? Hmmm...didn't Pudge play for the Marlins in'03?
