Do They Have a Doggett in the Minors?

Classic. Sure, Mulder must go. Go where? Who could the Cardinals trade him to after his career worst game, and for what? A sack of baseballs? This isn't fantasy baseball where you can just drop your pitchers after a bad outing and pick someone up from the waiver wire.

re: Mulder must go

But you forget what CSM, Cigarette Smoking Man, has always maintained--Mulder serves a higher purpose. You can destroy the man, but you must not make him a martyr and elevate his cause!

Some possible callups from the minors;

Anastasio Anasazi
Alex Krycek
Highpockets Frohicki
Longarm Langley
Dehand Derverletzt
Victor "Squeeze" Toombs
Wag the Dog Doggett
Allen Bounty Hunter
EBE Hybrid Jones
Kolchak "the night stalker" jones
Jeffrey Wolf "spooky" spender

I understand that all of these up and comers play for the Las Vegas Area 51 Alien Rebels, in the AAAA league.

Uhhhh... judging from the boxscore, LaRussa could have thrown Cy Young, Walter Johnson and Tom Seaver out there last night and the Sox would have put up some big numbers. Every team has one of these nights on occassion (doesn't matter who you throw up there).

I wouldn't say that - most of the runs came off of Mulder and Ponson, who have been absolutely terrible lately. Terrible as in the batting practice pitcher might have been able to get more outs.

Mulder has been this bad for a month, and Ponson was demoted from the starting rotation. They did get a couple more off of Thompson, but he also had been struggling.

Thanks for the linkage. Mulder has been good for no more than 2 innings his last six or seven starts, so maybe he could go into middle relief. The Cardinals have a good miner league prospect in Anthony Reyes, who is ready for the call-up.
