Barry Bonds gets another vacation day as the Giants and Mets are rained out. They'll play a doubleheader tomorrow.

Oh Joy. A doubleheader - they way things have been going for the Mets lately, they will probably play 27-28 innings tomorrow (in boats, if necessary). Anyone know the single-season record for extra innings played?

There's one I haven't thought about before: do some teams really play a substantial number of innings more than others? Would they be lower-scoring teams? Teams with stronger bullpens (i.e., get into the same number of extra-inning affairs as other clubs but stay in them longer)?
