RBI Percentage

Recently I posted about RBI percentage in relation to Albert Pujols' run at Hack Wilson. Someone suggested I add that functionality to the Day by Day Database. It was a pretty easy change, so here's a tool to generate RBI Percentages. You can set the dates (so you can go back to the 2000 season), the sort column the sort direction and the minimum number of runners on base. Here's the year to date chart through June 1, 2006. I hope you find this useful.

Is there enough data to omit the runners who were on base during plate appearances where the batter was intentionally walked? Obviously, the single batter most affected by this would be Bonds, but it would probably improve the effective RBI rate of at least half a dozen other hitters.

I hadn't thought about that. Most players don't get intentionally passes that much. It would, however, make a huge difference for Bonds. I'll think about it.

Actually, the thing I'd most like to see in the database next time you're messing with it is pitcher HR/9 in the pitcher comparisons

Thank you for the RBI pct.

Is there any chance you could add the ability to sort by team to that listing?

Is a player "penalyzed" if and when he WALKS----
and therefore drives in no runs unless the bases are loaded??????
