Support Your Local Team
Billfer at The Detroit Tigers Weblog notes attendance is poor at Tigers games despite the team's good record. If you want your team to keep working toward winning, you need to reward management when they do a good job! Detroit fans, get out to the park the week. Billfer offers plenty of good reasons, including discount tickets!

isn't the stadium in a VERY dangerous area?
It's kinda of seedy (hell, it is in Detroit), but if you put enough cops around it should be ok until the game is over. I've only been there on Sunday afternoons, when the Yanks have been in town, don't know what it is like at night.
It has been raining for the last week or so. No one wants to go out. Even the Mud Hens games here in Toledo haven't been drawing as well as in the past.
Thanks for the link David.
Lisa - the stadium isn't in a very dangerous area at all. It is in an entertainment district (bear in mind that I say this relative to other areas of Detroit). As for the general fear of coming to Detroit, that was largely overcome this winter when the Super Bowl was here. A lot of the suburbanites got to see that there are at least portions of Detroit that are safe to visit.
