Cuban Pirate

Once again, Mark Cuban in making noises about buying the Pirates. It would be the best thing to happen to the team since they drafted Barry Bonds.

re: Mark Cuban

If he does buy the Pirates, and Castro dies, and Cuba becomes free again, he could move the team to Havana, and they could be called the...

HAVANA MARK CUBANS!!!

Needless to say, Cuban Cigar Night, Cuban Libre Night, Cuban Beauty Contest Night could not be far behind.

I think this would finally fulfill many, if not all of Mark Cuban's semi-adolescent needs for attention.

Given the talent base in Cuba, and Mark Cuban's unlimited purse, they would also soon become the greatest team in baseball history.

He could build a baseball palance for the team, and numerous baseball academies in Cuban, called "Mark Cuban Academies."

I realize this is getting to be an extended riff, but it's just perfect, isn't it???

I think luis tiant could work for him, puffing on a Cubano.

re: Cuba & the WBC

No, my comment then was that they should be barred because they were ruled by a Communist Dictator who was an anti-US Ass.

Let's face it--if Cuba had won the WBC Castro would have exploited it for anti-US Communist propaganda purposes along with his buddy Chavez in Venezuela, who by the way is so busy nationalizing oil companies and restricting oil production in Venezeula, mostly at Castro's insistence, that you'll be paying about $7 a gallon at the pump for gas by the end of the summer.

Don't get me wrong. I can afford $7 a gallon for gas. I've driven in Europe and paid their pump prices.

But I remain as always an ardent Cold War mindset anti-Communist. The only good red is a dead red.
