Greinke to the DL?
The Kansas City Royals are not placing Greinke on the 60-day DL, but he will start the season on the 15-day disabled list. I wonder how many players reached the DL via mental illness before? The news here is that his return early in the season is more likely than not.
In the old days, he would have earned the nickname Wacky Zacky by now.

I still haven't work my Greinke shirt since he disapeared. I just realized that now though.
Small thing, but Greinke isn't on leave because of a "mental illness," just a personal matter. He may just be sick of baseball and/or the Royals, which I don't think would constitute an illness.
If he's not on leave for mental illness, why does he get to go on the DL? I know the DL gets abused, but I would think there needs to be some sort of illness or injury before you can place a player there.
Maybe bereavement...for oneself?
It's like Catch 22. You're insane if you keep flying the missions. But if don't want to fly the missions, that proves you're sane enough to continue. Greinke just told them he's not going to fly any more missions for the Kansas City Royals, at least not for awhile, so that proves he's not crazy. Who would want to have anything to do with the Royals?
