Pinto Demoted

Reynel Pinto was sent down by the Marlins yesterday. The spotted one is a high strikeout, low home run pitcher who should do well in Dolphin Stadium. At least he's going to a place with a cool name. :-)

With the AAA team in Miami, Reynel might want to be on the Isotopes.

Pinto is a low-homer guy in AA, but the Cubs started him out at AAA in 2005, and ended him in AAA in 2004. In the 32 innings he pitched there before the Cubs sent him back to AA, he gave up 5 homers. Combine that with his lack of control and I don't think the Cubs are going to regret trading him.

Sounds like a bean ball specialist to me. If so, he should expect a chili reception from his opponents...
