Rickey and the Mets

Bob Sikes comments on what Rickey Henderson does for the Mets. He also see Rickey possibly putting on the Mets uniform at some point:

But getting back to Henderson, what may materialize is a silent commitment from Minaya to him that if he's unable to find the employment he's looking for, a player-coach role might be in the cards in Tidewater. And then the potential is there for Randolph and Minaya to summon this legend should need arise.

I'd love to see him play in the bigs again, but I'd also love to see him get in the Hall ASAP.

I guarantee he'd still get on at a better clip than Reyes, too.

As a Phillies fan, I would love to see the Mets have to give Rickey a ton of at-bats. Seriously though, it would be fun to watch.

Can they bring back Olerud so Rickey can tell him about playing with that other guy who wore a helmet in the field in Toronto...and NY? I love that story.
