Shawn Settles
Shawn Chacon and the Yankees avoided an arbitration battle, agreeing to a 1-year, $3.6 million dollar contract. I like Chacon in New York, and he may turn out to be the best deal on the pitching staff.

indeed cashman's last best deal, since _______ a. david justic b. scott borus c. david cone
Colin: I think you mean Scott Brosius.
Now that they have Chacon's deal done, do you think the Yankees can trade Pavano and Wright for a #1 or #2 starter. Maybe there's a team out there with a big-contract pitcher, but they need more starting depth - and would trade one good pitcher for two servicable ones. The Yanks will still have Small to provide depth in case one of the fogies gets hurt.
