Jobs Hunting Theo

It looks like Theo Epstein will have no shortage of job offers, from consultant to team president. This is my favorite one:

If none of those come through, the New York Mets could even seek him out as an adviser or television analyst.

Theo in the booth would be very cool. I guess it's only a matter of time before Baseball Tonight calls as well.

I can only imagine the intelligent Theo Epstein going up against the, um, stu....um...John Kruk on Baseball Tonight. That would rate highly on that ever-popular unintentional comedy scale.

David, why do they always seem to have the Kruk type on, like Rob Dibble before him?

Theo should replace Sieleg as commissioner if you ask me.

If Theo joined BBTN, I might actually start watching it again.

Excellent suggestion Marty.

Best piece yet written on Theo and his firing? Jim Caple's column at espn.com. He nails the "Saint Theo" phenomenon.

I'm interested in the source material for the statement
that Theo is a millionaire.

"Cheers" to Theo Epstein for standing up & walking out on the Boston Red Sox' front office brass. (Coach would be proud)

If Theo couldn't take a little "back-and-forth" in the media with Larry Luchino, then he's probably too delicate to work in a major market. Clearly, he lacks the toughness of Brian Cashman. Now THERE'S a winner.

Dibble's image as a player was pretty bad, but as an analyst he's been a pleasant surprise. Nowhere near as bad as Kruk. When he appears on Dan Patrick's radio show, he's often the voice of reason next to Patrick's laddish boor (an unpleasant surprise).
