Funny how much Dye is like Ordoņez. While his numbers were just short of MO's, he did have two things outweighing that: 1) he wanted to play in Chicago, and 2) he had playoff and World Series experience going in.

And the great thing about what Jermaine Dye said:"Anyone of my teamates could have got this." The White Sox are a team first - players second. Obviously this is instilled from the manager, Ozzie. They played small ball, and hit homers, and had great pitching. The way that they all said "We did it as a team" reminds me of the 2002 Angels. A team effort - no one big star. Played small ball from the instructions of manager Mike Scoiscia. Almost like "National League" style - they say. Scioscia says the "team" is the most important aspect, and Ozzie says the same. He wants team players. That is what gets it done. Unselfish baseball... moving the guy over, sacrifice bunts, hitting to the right side. I remember articles saying that the way the Angels won it in 2002 would inspire other teams to build toward team efforts, and players that put the team first. Chicago does that and it proves again that it is a winnning system. Ozzie got rid of players that weren't team players, and got great pitching and defense, and it was the right combination. Congrats White Sox from a tried and true Angel fan. (of 37 years)
