Ending in a Tie

MLB.com details what happens in various tie situations. The Yankees, Red Sox and Indians finishing in a three way tie seems possible. For this to have a chance, however, the Yankees and Red Sox need to be separated by an odd number of games entering their weekend series. Beings selfish, I want as much baseball as possible, so I'd love to see the two day playoff between the three teams.

Why stop at 3-way -- if the tribe can sweep the ChiSox next weekend, a 4-way tie is quite plausible. And while we are dreaming, how about having a tie in the west as well. A 6-way tie, while really interesting, seems extremely unlikely if even possible, but 4 way tie in the east/central and a separate tie in the west could happen.

Don't forget the NL. The wild card could well end in a tie because Houston can't seem to shake the Phillies.

The White Sox seem to have weathered the storm, so I don't see them losing three more games this week than the Other Sox, the Yankees and the Indians. But the three-way tie looks very possible.
