MVP
It strikes me that this is going to be the first year since 1989 that Barry Bonds gets no MVP votes. A remarkable run. When ESPN did a player of the 1990s show, I aruged that Barry Bonds should get the award based on his MVP shares. I believe it went to Mark McGwire instead.

After last night's win, the Giants stand 6 games behind the Padres. If they somehow manage to come back and win the division, I wonder if Bonds gets MVP recognition. While it will only be 20 games, his presence could drastically alter the pennant race. And that's what an MVP should do.
Clearly, you were wrong, since his subsequent performance shows that Bonds, then in what should have been the prime years of his career, was a massive underacheiver in the 1990s ;)
Didn't Griffey Jr win the Player of the 90's Award?
Shouldn't BALCO get the player of the 90's award? After all, they created McGwire and Bonds.
