Leaving Lee in the Dust

Andruw Jones drove in five runs so far today with his 43rd home run and a single. That puts him at 108 RBI for the season, 11 ahead of Derrek Lee. It's looking more like Lee won't be able to win the triple crown, but Andruw is likely to take 2/3 of the title.

Jones is having an impressive season...but he still only hitting .270/.356/.588.

Lee: .346/.429/.681
Pujols: .329/.425/.610

Imagine if Lee actually had runners on base in front of him.

Runners on:
Lee: 195 AB - .323/.434/.615
Pujols: 224 AB - .313/.425/.603
Jones: 245 AB - .257/.361/.510

RISP:
Lee: 111 AB - .351/.487/.712
Pujols: 118 AB - .331/.494/.585
Jones: 152 AB - .224/.340/.395

MVP has to be between Lee and Pujols, with Jones being a distant third.

Lee has clearly been the best hitter in the league this year.

And yes...i know...you didn't talk about MVP in this post. And yes, I am a Cubs fan, but it shouldn't matter! :)

Hmm...don't know why my previous comment never showed up.

Lee is just as good of a 1b as Jones is a CF.

And Pujols has grealty improved also. All three bring the total package, but Lee and Pujols are significantly better than Jones, at least this year.
