Leiter Ignites Indians

My feeling is the Al Leiter experiment didn't work. Al was back to walking the house, issuing five walks and allowing five runs in just two innings of work before being relieved. He got away with it against the Twins, but his luck ran out against Cleveland tonight. He's now walked 15 in 19 1/3 innings as a Yankee this season. That's really unacceptable.

He was key in sparing the Yanks' bullpen for that one start, but yeah, he's got little if nothing left. Moving to the AL doesn't help, either.

Watching Leiter pitch this year is like listening to nails on a chalkboard. It
s hard to get much worse than walking three consecutive batters to load the bases and then serving up a bases-clearing double. Ouch. I guess Hideo Nomo will be wearing pinstripes before long. Oh yeah.
