Did John Wayne Make Any Pirate Movies?

This Zach Duke phenomenon is getting out of hand. He stopped the Braves today, allowing just one run in 8 1/3 innings. He didn't strike out many, but only allowed 1 walk. His ERA now stands at 0.92. He even got enough offensive help as Jose Castillo hit his ninth home run, topping his total from his rookie year.

Duke seems to have a little Andy Pettitte in him, as he induced three double plays today. That gives him nine on the season.

And by the way, the closest John Wayne came to a pirate movie was Reap the Wild Wind.

Zack Duke is providing us Pirates fans a reason to be enthusiastic. Jose Castillo and Chris Duffy are reasons also, but The Duke is The Man. Anxiously awaiting his next start. He could have possibly had a complete game today, but McClendon yanked him at an odd point in the 9th.

What about "Donovan's Reef"? That's sort of piratey.

I keep wondering where this guy came from and if he'll come down. His dominance as a new guy in the league, reminds me of Dontrelle Willis a couple years ago...but I haven't seen enough to know whether he's That good or if it's just a fluke and the scouting reports will catch up with him.

Wake of the Red Witch isn't quite a pirate movie, but Wayne plays a sea caption who scuttles his own ship to later return and salvage the cargo.

Whoops, somehow completely missed the last line of the post. Sorry about that.
