Who's Clean

Here's another reason we don't know if someone who tests clean really is clean.

I have wondered if Barry Bonds is taking Dhea-- its not illegal or against the rules, it seems to step up natural production and efficiency of several things which are, and it seems to directly address aging, which if he did any it would have people much less suspicious of him...

I can't testify to its antiaging effects, but can tell you that it improves my sleep greatly--and I take very tiny doses. (I'm at high risk for a cancer it seems to suppress, and have two kinds of Alzheimer's in my family.)

I'm not sure how you would legislate against it-- you don't want to start creating "age quota" tests to legislate how fast players have to decay... 30 year olds can have 30 g, but 35 year olds only 25 and by 40 you better be down to 17 or we'll suspend you...I don't think. Julio Franco gets suspended for having a good metabolism, while Robby Alomar retires because he didn't?

I can't find any proof/evidence, but I have also been told that you can boost your natural production of DHEA by taking Co Q 10, which suggests a real tail chasing process; we could wind up banning chocolate chip cookies because they boost absorption of Zinc which increases production of Co Q 10 which boosts Dhea which raises Testosterone and HGH.

May not be clean? Please - if a substance is legal, the person is clean. Ifd the substance is banned or illegal, the person is not competing failrly under the rules. If a person used a substance BEFORE it was deemed enhancing, they are also playing by the rules.

And, if we ban a product because it supposedly/actually unfairly enhances performance, shouldn't we ban it for all?

Kids aren't idiots - if MLB etc. say a substance that can be purchased over the counter assists performance, won't kids (or their crazed scholarship hungry parents) buy and use?

one set of laws for all!
