Inching Toward NY
One more obstacle is out of the way in the Randy Johnson deal as the commissioner approved the trade. And it will be three way swap as Navarro will end up with the Dodgers for Shawn Green. The stumbling block will be contract extensions for the Big Unit and Shawn Green.

Please tell me the Dodgers are going to pick up another bat somewhere along the way... Right now I'm looking at a team that has 4 positions, including the pitcher's spot, with OBPs under .300 last year. Out of Valentin, Choi, and Ross, Valentin was the only one who finished above the Mendoza Line. So basically, We have to create all of our runs with five guys in the batting order, one of whom will probably have trouble staying off the suspended list, and one of whom was known as an all-field, no-hit shortstop until about a year ago, another one of which will be on the wrong side of his 37th birthday by opening day, and another who has less than a full year's Werth of major league service. As long as J.D. Drew hits a home run EVERY SINGLE AT-BAT, we should do O.K.
And who exactly is our starting rotation at this point? Brad Penny and Jeff Weaver? Ishii and Edwin Jackson?
