Who Needs Barry?

The Padres are pitching to Bonds tonight. He's 0 for 2, but the Giants have scored four runs, including a solo shot by Ray Durham. The Dodgers are down 1-0 in the fourth as well. I'm off to bed, but the races stay interesting.

OK - it turns out that the Dodgers are up by 3 and the Giants and Astros are tied for the wildcard. What happens if the Giants and Astros both sweep? The Giants finish tied for the NL West with the Dodgers - and both are effectively tied with the Astros for the wildcard. Giants and Dodgers now have a 1-game playoff for the NL West. Someone wins and loses, but what happens to the Astros? Do they win the wildcard, does the loser of the Giants/Dodgers playoff win the wildcard, or do the Astros win the wildcard because the loser of the playoff now has a worse record than the Astros?
