Cool Play
Ramon Martinez, shortstop for the Cubs, just made a neat catch. Jenkins popped one up into the outfield between third and short. Instead of getting under the ball, Martinez made an underhand/backhand catch to the side of his body, and he did it so nonchalantly that it looked like he did it all the time. That made 3-4 hitters 0 for 3 in the game so far, as Davis got Sosa and Alou in the first.

Yeah, that was a pretty weird play. "Neat" pretty much sums it up. T
FYI: Abreu and Matsui got the Final Vote spots in the All Star game.
Martinez misjudged it and got lucky with the backhand. I'm not sure what his range factor is or anything, but my eyes tell me he's been brutal at SS lately. Every time its hit to him, I hold my breath. Sometimes he gets errors, sometimes not. He often bobbles the ball on sure double play balls and end up only getting a force. Or he'll bobble it but still beat out a slow-footed catcher or something. Seems to me that once or twice a game lately he screws up. Good utility player, bad starter.
