More Bunting
Joe Torre just had Jeter bunt Crosby over to 2nd in the bottom of the first. Michael Kay appears to agree with my position on this.
Update: The Yankees play for one run, and get one run.

WTF? Jeter's hitting something like .500 against the Orioles and he bunts? Torre has him bunt? Cabrerra's got a 1.67 WHIP so far this year and a .282 batting average against, it's not like he's going to no hit the Yankees. Yeesh.
Why didn't Posada pinch hit for Flaherty with the bases loaded and one out in the 6th inning/?? Is he hurt or something??? ARGH!
Posada's fine. Sterling and Steiner remarked that Torre was talking to Posada at that point and they (using their magical lip-reading powers I guess) said that Torre told Posada he wasn't using him because it was only the 6th.
Well Jeter's rbi streak got snapped, but A-Rod's onbase streak is still intact. At least the Orioles got a decent outing from their starter today.
I wouldn't rejoice at having Michael Kay on your side of any argument. As a Red Sox fan, I was more than happy to see them give up an out.
The Yankees give up about 3 outs a game using the world famous, Enrique Wilson strategy.
I missed the game, but was Jeter really sacrificing? He shows bunt a lot, and will occasionally bunt for a base hit. Did he square early or late? I would think he was bunting for a hit, figuring at worst he'd move the runner. Not that I agree with that, but it seems more likely. Meanwhile, although he's a sawks fan, I agree with d, bad news when Michael Kay is on your side.
sterling or steiner (can't remember which as their voices tend to meld in my head from time to time) seemed to think he was trying to bunt for a base hit.
jen, I have the same problem telling those two blowhards apart.
