Clemens On Again
The Mets started Ginter instead of Leiter, but the result was still an excellent matchup. In his first start, Ginter went into the 6th, allowing two runs, one earned. But that's nowhere near enough to beat Clemens right now. The Rocket struck out 10 in seven innings, allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk. His ERA now stands at 1.72. One more good inning out of the bullpen and he'll have eight wins in eight starts.
Update: Dotel blew the save. Once again, that's the problem with being a seven inning pitcher. The fate of your decision is left to others. Houston and the Mets are tied at 2 in the 10th.
Update: The Mets win on a Jason Phillips HR in the 13th.

Now that Dotel blew Clemens fine performance what about Ben Sheets and his 18K's?
Speaking of dominating starts, did anyone else catch Sheets' performance today? CG, 3 hits allowed, 1ER, one BB, 18 STRIKEOUTS! Brewers win 4-1. It's only May 16th, but the Brew Crew seem to be much improved.
Mike Piazza and his flair for the dramatic strike again....
He couldnt beat Clemens with all the hype, but he sure stole the win from him
2nd blown save in 3 days. and he looked shaky on sat night. he SAID, on the post game show, that he needed more warm up pitches. *%$#@*&%^%.
I think Dotel has the stuff to be a great closer... you just get em all... luckily the mets reaped the benefit of a blown save for a change...
BLooper has yet to give up an earned run though... and escaped a precarious situation in the 8th inning yesterday... i wonder how long he can go without giving up a run
