Cheaper in Florida

I live in Massachusetts, but it's unlikely that I can get Red Sox tickets at this point. I'd probably have to pay a ticket agent or scalper through the nose. It may actually be cheaper for me to go to Tampa Bay to see a game. I can fly there from Hartford for $100 round trip, and get a pretty good seat for $25.00. Someone in the Devil Rays organization should work a deal with Southwest to bring in visiting fans on discount fares whenever the Rays are in town, especially from New York and Boston. It's one way of boosting attendance.

Why not a Red Sox Limited, from AMTRAK? Since the system is losing money, it could bring in some revenue.

In years past I have gone to Baltimore to see the Sox on the cheap. I drive down (about 7 hours), with tickets for two games in my hand (that was about $75 for four tickets), and I stayed at a state campground about 20 minutes from the ball park (you're in the country in 20 minutes!). The tent site was $15 a night.

All told, I can see two games in Baltimore cheaper than one at Fenway.

I don't know if they are going to have follow-through on this, but the new owners of the Sox have said they intend to lower ticket prices when they either get a new park or renovate and expand Fenway.

Hey, Have you guys ever heard of ebay?? You can great great deals on Sox ticks especially for on a midweek day against a "lesser" team. For instance, type go to ebay and type in "Red Sox 4/28" (WEd night game against Tampa). You'll be amazed at the plethora of reasonably priced tickets. Take care

You might not have to travel so far. Last year I had the dubious pleasure of attending a couple of Orioles-Yankees games in Baltimore. (My boys, who take after their maternal grandfather, love the Yankees, but I digress.) What I noticed was that the upper deck (where we were sitting) seemed lined with Yankee fans. On Sunday I talked a bit with the couple next to me. They drove down from NJ for the weekend and did some touring. Since they couldn't get tickets for the Yankees in NY, they bought them in Baltimore where there were plenty of seats. That doesn't prove anything, but I suspect that they weren't the only ones who made the trip.
I realize that if the O's keep on playing as they have been, this summer may not be as good a time as last year was; but the fan base will not return overnight. I think you probably could shoot for tickets in Baltimore.
