Worth the Money
Miguel Tejada has really impressed me with his defense tonight. He's smooth, he fields cleanly, has a rifle of an arm, and isn't afraid to stay in on the double play. The Orioles fans are in for a real treat this year.

Yeah, as an A's fan, I can definitely say that Tejada's defense, when he's on his game, is highly underrated.
The only problem is that he's got a bit of a Jeckel/Hyde thing going. Some days, he looks like this - strong, accurate arm, aggressive playstyle, great range. Other days, he starts throwing it into the dugout and booting routine grounders.
Over the years, the percentage of good days has gone up a lot, but he's still frustratingly inconsistent (really, in all aspects of his game.) The fan, relying on observation alone, likely comes to the conclusion that he has absolutely no limits, but sometimes lacks focus. It wouldn't be a huge shock if he turned into a gold-glover.
Of course, these kinds of observational anecdotes have a tendency to be wildly inaccurate.
But still, Tejada has some serious defensive skills, and I'm sure that Oriole fans will enjoy having him on the team, long since they've been eliminated from playoff contention.
