Switching Sides

Randy Johnson decided today to pitch the 2004 season right-handed.

"It's just too easy," Johnson expounded. "Even Barry Bonds quavers in fear at my elongated frame and side arm delivery. I'm 40 years old and can still strike out 12 a game. I need to do something more challenging."

Johnson is also changing his nick name to "Light Year," which is a very big unit.

In a somewhat related story, the Yankees and Tigers decided to trade their entire rosters. Steinbrenner said "I'm was tired of winning all the time with great players; it's more satisfying to win with mostly mediocre players. Besides, at this time of the year to be at .500, tied with the Devil Rays, is unacceptable."

In a story somewhat related to the comment above, and having a little to do with the post, George signs every player in baseball:

i pulled one over my brother until he checked espn, left a message on his machine saying that gagne had been traded to the yankees for a-rod and that mota was the closer, he just abot crapped his pants and was calling me franticaly while trying to find the link on espn

also, just found out im going to the dodgers opening day. what was the assignment you had in mind?
but remember if gagne comes in to pitch, there could be no knowledge but for the 9th inning when the great one pitches

Brandon, I see your praise for Gagne and fear that your brother would actually protest an A-Rod for Gagne trade. Please tell me I'm reading this wrong.

Another for today:

Steinbrenner: Two Expansion Teams Part of Commitment to Winning

NEW YORK--Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig has announced that there will be two new expansion teams in the American League, one in Brooklyn, and the other in Nassau County, New York. Both franchises are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the New York Yankees...

we both love seeing gagne pitch, both gagne freaks you could say. he would probably cut all ties to the dodgers, and dissavow any knowledge of gagne existing. so he probably would protest the trade, or at least go around his campus, destroying things

he actually was looking on espn for the story about it, it was pretty funny, but he figured it out after couple glances

Chad (and everyone else).
Yes, I know, sorry. I didn't scroll down until after I had read & commented on the top post. D'oh!

Oh man, the best joke was when the Expos shortstop told Team990 radio that he asked for a trade. He had nothing against the city but that there had been a locker-room altercation with Carl Everett.

And then he was scratched before the game; because of a wrist problem so some of the skeptics were beginning to believe the altercation actually took place.

Nick Johnson being on the DL is no joke though.
