U.S. Cellular Field Seating Chart

OK, so maybe U.S. Cellular Field doesn’t have the same “ring” to it as Wrigley Field, Fenway Park or Yankee Stadium, but it’s the only MLB park that can claim to be the home of the defending World Champions. The improbable and dominant championship run by the Chicago White Sox last year has fans in the Windy City actually paying attention to a team other than the Cubs, and that means White Sox baseball tickets will go fast this season.

Formerly called New Comiskey Park when it replaced the venerable old stadium where the Chicago White Sox played for 80 years, U.S. Cellular Field opened in 1991, just before the retro craze that brought us parks like Camden Yards and Jacobs Field. But “The Cel” has benefited from many renovations since then. In fact, they have spent close to as much on improvements ($80 million), as they did to build the park ($137 million). Among the changes are a “Fan Deck” with patio seating and an attraction for the kids called FUNdamentals with batting cages, baserunning and speed pitch.

If you want to see the World Series champs this season, now is the time to get your Chicago White Sox baseball tickets. And even though the Sox have proven to be the better team in recent years, there’s no stopping the love in Chicago for the Cubs, and that means you always have a good shot at getting great White Sox tickets at U.S. Cellular Field while most of the Windy City goes to Wrigley to watch the Cubs lose.

The 2006 Chicago White Sox schedule includes home series against the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. And with fun-loving manager Ozzie Guillen calling the shots, the White Sox have a chance to repeat with most of last year’s core back again including Jermaine Dye, Paul Konerko, A.J. Pierzynski and Mark Buehrle, plus the addition of slugger Jim Thome to take the place of the departed Frank Thomas. If this team can stay healthy, there’s no reason to think that Chicago fans won’t be looking for MLB playoff tickets and World Series tickets again this year.
