Moving for Bryce

Aaron Judge says he will move positions if the Yankees sign Bryce Harper:

Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge told TMZ Sports on Monday that he would consider moving to center field to clear a spot for Harper, if that was indeed something that could put New York over the top in the Harper sweepstakes.

“Wherever he wants to play, we’ll make it work,” Judge told TMZ. “Anytime you can add an MVP to a team, it’s going to make it better.”

I could see Judge moving to first base. One of John Olerud‘s defensive strengths was his height. At 6’ 5″, Olerud owned a long stretch, so the ball got to his glove sooner than most first basemen. Judge is two inches taller, giving him an even longer reach, making him more likely to hold the bag on bad throws.
