Manaea Madness

Sean Manaea brings the Red Sox winning streak to a screeching halt by throwing a no-hitter against Boston. Manaea walked two and struck out 10, while one batter reached on an error, facing three over the limit. He worked efficiently, throwing just 108 pitches, 75 for strikes. It’s first Oakland no-hitter since the Dallas Braden perfect game. It’s the first no-hitter against Boston since April 22, 1993 when Chris Bosio of the Mariners spun his gem, nearly 25 years to the day.

The Boston offense had been on a roll, scoring at least seven runs in 10 of their last 12 games. Once again, Chris Sale pitches well but does not win.
