Astros Win the Pennant

Congratulations to the Houston Astros as they beat the Yankees 4-0 in game seven of the ALCS to win the American League Pennant. It was a two starter game, as Charlie Morton gets the win, and Lance McCullers gets the four inning save. I thought the Yankees had an advantage against Morton. They attacked him early, but the attacks didn’t deliver. That allowed him to go five innings. A.J. Hinch avoided his bullpen, and Lance McCullers continued his great pitching against New York.

Jose Altuve and Brian McCann delivered big hits and big defensive plays. Alex Bregman and George Springer added defensive gems as well. The Astros took advantage of home field advantage, with rare sweep at home in a seven game series.

This sets up a great series, once again with two teams that have not won in a very long time. The Astros have never won a World Championship, and the Dodgers last won in 1988.

I believe the Astros are the first team to win a pennant in both leagues.
