Harper Hurt

As I went to bed last night, there was an alert on my phone that Bryce Harper left the game with “an apparent leg injury.” They don’t get more apparent than a person writing in pain on the ground. At the moment, however, it might have looked worse than the actual result:

Bryce Harper hyperextended his left knee when he slipped on a wet first base Saturday night, dealing a potentially devastating blow to the National League East-leading Nationals.

Manager Dusty Baker said Harper would undergo an MRI on Sunday and the Nationals would know more about the extent of his injury then.

“He was in obvious pain, and he was praying, and I was praying too,” Baker said.

He did walk out of the stadium on on his own, although he was limping. This will be one MRI that will be very much anticipated by Washington fans.

The Nationals beat the Giants 3-1.
