Trea Turner, Bryce Harper, and Jayson Werth are scheduled to bat for the Nationals in the ninth. Will Kenley Jansen or Clayton Kershaw pitch for the Dodgers?
Update: Jansen is on to start the inning.
Update: Turner falls behind 1-2. He strikes out 2-3. One down.
Update: Harper bats, but Kershaw does not come in the game. Harper gets ahead 2-0. The Nationals fans are cheering, “Let’s go Harper!” The third pitch is in the dirt for ball three. The fourth pitch is high, and Harper draws the walk.
Update: Jansen misses on the first pitch to Werth. He throws a low strike to even the count. Werth gets ahead 2-1, however, as Jansen misses low and outside. Werth fouls off a pitch as Harper runs. Jansen misses away for a full count. The final pitch is low for ball four, and the Nats have men on first and second for Daniel Murphy. Clayton Kershaw comes into the game.
Update: What a great, edge of your seat game. Now we basically get the best pitcher in the game versus the best hitter on the Nationals, and maybe the National League. Wow.
Update: Murphy takes ball one. He pops up the second pitch to second base for the second out. It’s up to Wilmer Difo, pinch hitter.
Update: Difo falls behind 1-2. Difo strikes out on a curve ball, and the Dodgers win the NLDS!
