Goins, Goins, Gone

Ryan Goins hits a two-run homer in the bottom of the tenth inning as Toronto beats Cleveland 5-3. It looked like the Blue Jays would win in nine until Yan Gomes hit his second solo home run of the evening to tie the score at three. That gave Edwin Encarnacion, 0 for 1 in the game with a walk and a sacrifice fly another chance to extend his hit streak. He popped out in foul territory, and Goins’s homer finished off the streak.

It just tickles me pink that as Encarnacion’s streak ends the new leader is another Jay – Goins.

It’s too bad Yasial Puig is on the DL – it would have made tonight’s Dodgers/Giants game even more exciting to watch if he had a chance to tie Goins’ hitting streak.
