You Don’t Need a Weatherman To Know Which Way the Wind Blows

Mike Trout is a closet weatherman:

What do Mike Trout and Weather Channel meteorologist Jim Cantore have in common? A love for thundersnow, apparently.

A star outfielder for the Angels by day, Trout revealed to Yahoo! Sports that he fancies himself an aspiring weatherman and spends much of his time away from the baseball field geeking out over cumulonimbus clouds and the occasional El Nino. Trout said that his dream post-baseball job is to be like Cantore, who spends his days chasing some of the nation’s most bizarre storms.

TWC wants to use Trout to cover storms in New Jersey this winter, Trout’s home state.

It’s always good to have another job lined up. I remember Jim Kaat talking about how he studied broadcasting when he was a player. Trout would be a huge draw where ever he wound up as a weatherman.
