The Red Sox send Wade Miley against Chi Chi Gonzalez, making his MLB debut for the Texas Rangers. Since I’m a child of the 1970s, I immediately think of this:

Les did wear a cool bow tie.

Miley pitched well in May as he got his walks and strikeouts under control, posting a 2.60 ERA so far this month. Gonzalez moved up to AAA this season at age 23, and saw his walks rise and his strikeouts drop. That’s not a good sign for success in the majors.
