Kris Bryant finally hits his first major league home run, a three-run shot in the third inning that gives the Cubs a 3-2 lead over the Brewers. Bryant’s ability to get on base represented his strength so far, coming into the game with a .287 BA and a .422 OBP, thanks to 17 walks in 90 plate appearances. His 29 strikeouts are more in line with a home run hitter, so it’s nice to see him take a pitcher deep. I’m sure it will be the first of many.
