Multi-HR Harper

Bryce Harper homered three times as the Nationals held off the Marlins 7-5 Wednesday afternoon. It was Harper’s sixth multi-home run game, his first with three in a game. He was in a 1 for 17 slump to start May, but clearly broke out of that today.

Video is here. The first one looked like he didn’t get all of the ball, as he popped it out to the opposite field. The last two were both upper deck, no doubt shots to the power alley in right. Magnificent blasts. Harper moves up to third in the league in home runs with eight.

Max Scherzer struck out ten, but gave up a ton of hits. Even when the Nationals defense isn’t making errors, they seem rather porous.

Danger of looking at SSS stats. Harper had dismal results against Koehler so I chose Stanton instead for my daily lineup. Painful mistake.
