Stanton Breaks Out

Giancarlo Stanton missed the cycle by a triple Saturday afternoon as he went three for three with a walk as the Marlins routed the Nationals 8-0. Stanton came into the game hitting for power and walking a bit, with a .226/.342/.484 slash line. Eight of his fourteen hits had gone for extra bases. He brought that up to 10 of 17 hits, and a .262/.377/.569 slash line. The two teams are now in a slushy tie at 7-11, seven games behind the Mets.
