Games of the Day

Two low ERA pitching match ups start off the day. The Indians send Trevor Bauer against Detroit and Alfredo Simon. Bauer has yet to allow a home run in 19 innings while striking out 26. Simon’s strong suit is his walks, just two in 20 2/3 innings so far in 2015.

The Cubs send Jake Arrieta against the Reds and Anthony DeSclafani. Cincinnati gave Arrieta trouble in Chicago, scoring three of the four runs he allowed this season. DeSclafani allowed a .127/.184/.183 slash line so far, giving up just nine hits in 21 innings.

Matt Harvey is a known Yankees fan, and he visits The Bronx as an opponent today against CC Sabathia. Harvey is undefeated in 2015, with 24 strikeouts and just one walk in 18 innings pitched. Sabathia lost all three of his starts, despite good three-true outcome numbers. Opponents are hitting .400 against him with runners in scoring position.

Finally, Josh Hamilton‘s two teams meet in Anaheim as the Rangers send Colby Lewis against C.J. Wilson and the Angels. Lewis allowed a .214 BA with runners on base this year, but those hits have done some damage as four of the six have gone for extra bases. The lefty Wilson is doing a good job of shutting down RHB, with a .228/.297/.351 slash line against them.

Enjoy!
