Alfredo Simon pitches his third great game of the season, holding the Yankees to one run as the Tigers take a tight contest 2-1. Simon walked none and struck out seven in 7 1/3 innings of work, coming out for the eighth after the Tigers finally scored in the bottom of the seventh. He’s now pitched 20 2/3 innings and allowed two walks. He only struck out five coming into this game, but if he can ramp those up as he did Monday night, he’ll continue to be tough to beat.
