Changes, Seattle Mariners

With major league teams going through trading frenzies this off-season, Baseball Musings takes a look at the players added by each team this off-season, continuing with the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners brought in the following players from other organizations:

For the second year in a row, the Mariners added a big bat. Last season Seattle shored up the infield with Robinson Cano, this time they build up the outfield with Nelson Cruz. Otherwise, the moves were to add depth. Happ gives them a decent back of the rotation starter, Ruggiano and Smith are useful outfieders, and Weeks provides insurance for the infield. This was a team on the edge of contention in 2014, and these moves should push them closer to the playoffs.
