Nationals in the Ninth

The Giants get a hit but do not score in the bottom of the eighth. The Nationals send Adam LaRoche, Ian Desmond, and Bryce Harper to the plate in the top of the ninth trailing 3-2. They score or they go home.

Update: Santiago Casilla comes on to pitch. LaRoche hits an 0-1 offering deep to center, but flies out. One down.

Update: Desmond falls behind 1-2. Desmond tries to check his swing, but is rung up by the home plate umpire. Two down. Desmond didn’t like the call.

Update: Harper swings at the first two pitches, makes contact, but fouls them off. He works the count back to 2-2, then 3-2. He fouls off a pitch, then takes ball four to extend the inning. Wilson Ramos gets a chance to be a hero.

Update: Ramos gets ahead 2-1. He grounds out to second, and the Giants win 3-2. They win the series three games to one, and will travel to St. Louis for the NLCS starting Saturday.

What a nail biter of a series. They all should be like this.
